I love the excitement on their faces when they come down the stairs Christmas morning. It reminds me of when I was young and the only thing that mattered was how good Santa was to me this year. Life was a lot simpler back then. I used to get up at the crack of dawn every Christmas morning. I made a pact with my sisters and brother to make sure which ever of us woke up first woke the rest of us. We would all sneak downstairs and look at the loot. After checking out the loot and trying to guess what was inside, we would commence the second phase of our mission; wake the parents so we could dig into the gifts. We had a plan and each year it went off without a hitch. I think that Christmas day was probably the only day of the year we were not fighting with each other, we were too focused on teamwork, See we could not open any of those presents until mom and dad handed them out. It was a ritual, dad sat down in front of the tree and we waited and waited and waited until he handed out each gift. Then we had to watch them open it and well you get the idea, it took forever. So the sooner we started the better. We tried every year to get them out of bed earlier than last year. It was my favorite christmas tradition. I love watching my kids now on christmas morning. We did not make them wait this year. In fact John and I decided to do it a little different this year. We did not wrap any gifts. We told Santa not to wrap his either. I certainly did not miss the wraping paper mess; but I am still undecided about rather I will do it again next year. There faces were still excited but then it was over too quickly and they were into playing with all the toys. I am still undecided on it but we had a great christmas. Tristan had the best reactions. He was so excited that he got everything he asked for and a little bit more. He is opening a train set in the picture and with each piece of train, and there was a lot of train in the box, he kept saying Look look it is a ........ I never had one of these before, how did Santa know that?
