First day of school

Tristan started Pre-k this year and Chase goes into second grade. I can't believe it. They are growing too fast.

Tristan was so excited to start school that he went to bed at 6pm. He would have slept in his school clothes if I had let him. He packed his backpack the night before and half of his snack. He is a riot. When the big day arrived both of them came running into my room at 5:45 am and pounced on me screaming get up mom it is the first day of school. They were all dressed shoes on and ready to get in to the car. Spencer and I were still in our pjs. I now know what it feels like to them when I rush them out of the house. We had to take some pics before we left, then more when we got to school.

Daddy surprised us all by announcing he would sacrifice sleep so he could be there on the first day of school. He just got done working a 13 hour shift. Thank you daddy,we love you and we love how hard you work for us.

Well here we go. We arrived at school. Chase gave us all a hug and kiss and went in to the building. I'm sad, he is starting into that mom's kisses and hugs are not cool in public already.

Tristan met his Teacher Mrs. Emerson outside where she was waiting with name tags and a huge warm smile. Tristan found his name tag and showed off his backpack and new clothes. She gave him just the kind of praise and recognition he was looking for and he ate it up. He was all smiles. When all the kids in his class were finally there and the bell rang for the big kids, Mrs. Emerson announced it was time to line up and go inside. Tristan gave us both a hug and kiss and said "It's time to go,I am ready" then he walked over and stood in line. We waved goodbye, then watched as they waved bye three more times. Tristan had tears welling up in his eyes but he kept turning around so I couldn't see them. They walked to the door and Mrs. Emerson told them to turn and wave one more time, he blew me a kiss and walked through the door to his first day of school. He was fighting back tears but that is ok. I bawled all the way back to the car and so did Spencer. He was all smiles at the end of the day when he came running into my arms. "Mom" he says "I like preschool" I am so proud of him.
