4-H Science Fair

We participated in a science fair at the
end of our 4-H year. Tristan and Spencer
worked together on
Raising Puppies
They researched how to raise puppies from books
the internet and interviewing mom and dad.
We had two litters of puppies so there were
lots of puppies to practice what we learned.
Tristan took all the pictures and wrote
out the answers to my questions
Spence drew pictures of what he learned and
they put it all together on the board.

Our Friend Zachary and his mom
Zachary did his on Ants

Our little scientists all ready to present
to the judges.

Angel is another friend from church as well as 4-H
She made a beaver Damn

Chase did his project on
the life cycle of a puppy.
He wrote out all of his answers too.
He had great pictures of how the puppy develops
and what it is like for the female to go through
pregnancy and delivery.
He thought it was gross but cool
when he watched Bella give birth
We video taped it too and
he played it for anyone who wanted
to see it.

He had to present to the judges as well.
The judges asked all the moms and dads
to leave the room so the kids presented to
only the judges which i thought
was odd. I brought all the cameras to
capture every moment of
all three boys first oral presentation
outside of church to a group of strangers
really  and i could not
I was a little sad.
Oh well they
did great and it was still a good experience for them

Our friend Caleigh's project on chickens

Her sisters project on chickens as well

The rewards for their
labors: A ribbon and a toys
Very proud mommy!

Chase got a blue ribbon and a farkle game
So Proud!

They did a great job and in my opinion won first place! They  also got
an evaluation sheet to take home so i could see what the judges said, it was interesting.
This was my first experience with 4-H and science fairs so I am still not sure what to
think about the whole experience except to say it was different. I think the boys
gained some new skills, made some great new friends and had some unique experiences.
I will call that success and leave it at that!
