Sugaring up the kindergarten.

Spencer was the first kid in his class to have a birthday this year. We are talking about only the second week of school here folks so yeah this was a great way to make new friends.  His Teacher was so eager to get it over with so they could learn the routine right off. She was Tristan's teacher last year so we love her, she is great.  Spencer got to wear a crown all day and she has all the kids make him a birthday picture which she then puts together in a book to send home with him, it is so cute.

His class has 10 boys and 7 girls. I love kindergarteners they are so cute at that age. The cupcakes were a huge hit.  One little boy came up to me after and said "those were so good can I get your recipe? " I even got a full fist pump from another little guy, when his teacher asked him what he thought of the cupcakes he said they were awesome as he did a fist pump.  several kids asked for the recipe after the first little guy did.  Oh I know how to make a first impression. My son is going to be the  most popular boy in his class now oh yeah!!!!!

CUPCAKES!!!!!
He is ready to eat them not take a picture with them!!

Singing Happy Birthday to Spencer.
He loved being the center of attention!

She had him pass out the cupcakes first and then sing
They did so good waiting to eat them.

After they sing the birthday song they chant
are you one are you two etc, until they reach his age, then he
yells stop, she was moving his arms as they counted. He wasn't so sure about that.

Finally we get to eat the cupcakes!!!!
"These are so good can I get the recipe?"

One Happy Birthday Boy!!!!
YUMMY

First Day of School

Yeah it is time for school to start again!!! Spencer starts kindergarten woohoo. Tristan is in 1st grade and Chase is in 4th grade. Tristan was sick on the first day of school how awful is that. He missed the first 2 days of school. Poor guy.  My house is empty for a few hours every day. I am starting to enjoy my free time but honestly I find myself wondering what they are doing all day and missing them alot. I am looking forward to going in and volunteering in their classrooms. I miss them but I find things to keep me busy and they day seems to go by much faster.
It rained the first day but that did not stop the smiles, they are so excited. Spencer was overjoyed to finally be going to kindergarten.  He loved his first day.

Grampa Nuttall's visit

We had a great visit from Gampa Nuttall
And Nana Laurienne. We skipped school and took them to Acadia Natl. Park. This is a beautiful garden and of course the only thing the boys were interested in.... the bugs and frogs in the water.

I don't know what they were looking at but it was very interesting and they looked so cute. Spencer couldn't keep his hands out of the water. I love how much they love to explore

I can't compete with the water, I was trying to get them to look at the camera.

This was a cool wigwam made by hand out of birch bark. They are hiding inside of it and waiting to scare Grampa and Laurienne when they get closer.

We hiked to the top of Cadilac Mountain Yeah!!!!
Ok SO the car did most of the work. but they thought they climbed to the top.

Birthday Mishaps

Ok so I have no idea why The Lord blessed me with two children in the same month. As many of you know and for those who don't September is a full and busy month, My dad, one of my sisters, and 2 neices have Sept. B-days and that is just my side. John has a brother and his dad's birthday in Sept. NOW On September 18, 2002 Chase was born, then 4 years later Spencer arrived on Sept. 13th. WHY??? I have no idea. BUT hey what are ya gonna do huh?
We make a big deal out of birthdays and despite the large amount of sugar that flows through my house in Sept. each boy gets his own cake and, oh and cupcakes for school. Well this year my Sept. was a little more busy than usual. We traveled the first 2 weekends in Sept. for the best experiences ever. Then Grandpa Nuttall and Nana Laurienne came to visit the third week. We celebrated all three boys birthdays while Grandpa was in town so Spencer really didn't get his own cake. He is too young to know the difference right?? Well out of shear exhaustion I decided to save half of Spencers cake, (I put it in the fridge), and serve it up again on Chase's birthday 5 days later. I made sure Chase's name was still visible. Chase could care less.

Ok so Chase's big day rolls around and here is where the story gets good.  After a late Sunday dinner and presents, it was time for mom to take a much needed nap. It was a good one too. I was awakened a couple hours later to three little angelic faces."mom is is time for cake now"  "get up mom we want cake!!!"

As I am waking up; Stinky Pete comes running in and yells "UMMM GUYS........ UMM I HAD A LITTLE ACCIDENT......THE CAKE FELL...... ON THE GROUND.... OH AND ONE OF THE DOGS PEED IN THE KITCHEN....."  Chase asks "Did the dog pee get on the cake?" Spencer says "no but it is running down and hurry it is almost to the cake. "

I am thinking WHAT? am I dreaming? So naturally I got up to go see.  Oh yeah sure enough right in the middle of the kitchen floor is the cake frosting side down on the floor and the dog pee not far away.  I can hear John in the distance laughing hysterically!!!

Cake Down = one sad boy on his birthday. He cried for almost an hour. I tried everything. I hadn't made the cupcakes for school yet so I offered to make that and frost it so he could have cake in about an hour. He informed me that my cakes don't taste as good as the ones from the store. So we agreed to have his cake on Mon. night. SO Monday after school I dragged my yucky cake making self to the store and bought him a new cake, it was small but it was better than mine.

Lesson learned: Don't leave the birthday cake where Stinky Pete can reach it, always have a camera handy to get the perfect shot of "cake down"  and.... oh learn how to make the best cake ever by next year!!!

Chase AKA "Little Man" aka "Cheese ball"

The Picure says it all......Chase is a cheese ball! I can't get him to give me a serious smile
That is a whole lot of cheese for a guy who doesn't like cheese. He is nine years old. I can't beleive that my baby is nine years old and a big brother. He loves being a big brother.
He takes great care of his brothers. Sometimes before I can or need him to rather.
He loves to laugh and anything funny he loves.

He loves being outside and exploring, he loves the gross and weird. He has brought me many a
nasty bug and said mom what it this? His favorite show is "Weird True and Freaky"
He also loves animals, especially dinosaurs, he dreams of one day being a paleontologist.
He is always asking questions and whants to know the 5 w's about everything. I think If I had
clued into this a long time ago I could have created a show like "Sid the Science kid" off of all the things Chase and I have researched over the years.

His second passion is Cub Scouts, he's the shortest one on the end.
He loves loves loves cub scouts.
Chase is a very compassionate person. He is always in tune with his surroundings.
He takes care of his brothers and on occasion me and John. I love him so much
He makes me laugh all the time.

Tristan aka "Little Bear"

Tristan is turning 7 in about a month.
I can't believe how fast time goes by, he is in first grade this year.
He is a little snuggle bug. He likes the quiet life right now.
He loves reading books, playing with legos, drawing pictures and collecting things, to name a
few. He has a little arm chair in his room that is overflowing with all of his
favorite things.

He leaves us "love notes"  all over the house. He draws a
picture and writes a short note, puts it in an envelope and then hides it somewhere in my room
or in my chair. He is so cute though cause he can't stand to wait for me to find it so he always tells me that I have a surprise waiting fo me. He loves to see my face as I look for it and read it.
He said to me once after I read his note and said thanks " See mom that means I  filled your bucket and then you filled mine "  He fills my bucket with his smile every day. I am grateful to be his mom.

This is wolfy and he is Tristan's favorite snuggle bug right now.
He takes him everywhere right now. He loves to have that "security blanket"

Spencer AKA "Stinky Pete"

Stinky Pete turned 5 this month and started kindergarten, now I have more time to blog,
He loves to make us laugh with his stinky antics. Any bodily function that comes out of him
is quickly followed up by a hardy belly laugh and the stinkier or louder it is the better!!!!!
I try but I can't keep this boy clean to save myself.  This is is chocolate cupcake at school.
The boy loves dirt and sand and anything yucky. He hates getting washed.
I can tell him to go wash his face he comes back with water all around the dirt.
It amazes me how he can wash every bit of his face except the spot where the dirt is.

That beutiful grin is the reason he has lived as long as he has!!! heehee hee
He is a daredevil to say the least. There is nothing too high or too off limits for this
boy. If there is trouble in the house Stinky is usually at the heart of it.

"mom stop already i got things to do"
 "Enough pictures already"
