Discover Christmas Day Twelve

 What does Merry Christmas mean?

We use lots of different greetings we use during the Christmas season.
Here is the meaning of some of them.
Season's Greetings : just means "hello in the middle of winter"
Merry Christmas : Merry means "happy" or "joyful" and Christmas comes from and old English word that means "Christs Mass" or the church service many people attended to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ.
Happy Holidays : really means "Happy Holy Day" which really is special day set apart to worship God. Perfect for Christmas huh? Unfortunately by the 16th century it lost it's meaning when it became popular to call any day off from work a "Holy Day" or holiday. Now it is a phrase commonly used to send good wishes to our friends through out the season no matter what holiday they are celebrating.
This is how they say it in :
Thai: Suk San Wan Christmas
Norwegian : God Jul
Icelandic : Gledileg Jol
Italian : Buon Natale
