When did outdoor Christmas lights become so popular?
Not long after Thomas Edison patented his first light bulb, the first strings of light started appearing on American Christmas Trees. In 1882 Thomas's friend Edward John son came up with a simple electric motor that rotated his Christmas tree and 80 lights in little glass bulbs. With each turn, the colors alternated red, white, and blue. From there the Christmas tree light craze spread.Christmas tree lights remind us that Jesus is the True Light and that we should take His Light and shine it to the world through our good examples. " Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven." (Mathew 5:16) Please share your testimony of Jesus with someone else during this Christmas season. My boys have shared theirs with you. I want to share that I know Christ lives and he is my redeemer. I am comforted in His love and am so blessed by his good works. He has blessed my life with good friends, wonderful Children and a good husband who loves me.
